Harlescott Junior School, Haughmond Federation

PSG were commissioned to create a new flagship facility in Featherbed Lane after Shropshire Council invested £8.5million. This was to allow Sundorne Infant School and Nursery to move from its existing home on Corndon Crescent and relocate on to the same site as Harlescott Junior School, enabling the Haughmond Federation to consolidate its infant and junior provision on a single site. The school now has now expanded to four forms of entry to meet local demand for additional primary school places.

Shrewsbury Library Replacement Boiler and Gas Main

Replacement of existing obsolete gas boilers associated plant and leaking / undersized underground gas main.

Lord Hill Statue & Column restoration

The foundation stone of the column was laid on the 27th December 1814 and the column was completed and the statue placed on top on the 18th June 1816, the first anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. It is the largest free standing Doric Column in England and is a Grade II* Listed Structure.

Cambrian Railway external repairs

In early 2023, Shropshire Council took ownership of the Cambrian Railway building, a prominent Grade II listed Victorian building in Oswestry. Following years of neglect and storm damage several corbels had become loose, prompting the installation of safety scaffolding to protect passers-by and visitors.

Minsterley Primary Demountable Extension

Work has just been completed on a ‘demountable’ extension at Minsterley Primary School. The new 2-bay building provides a classroom and toilets for the school’s nursery provision.

Whitchurch Leisure Centre/Swimming Pool

PSG were commissioned to develop the new £13.1m swimming pool and fitness centre in Whitchurch and works have been progressing well. The development will include a six-lane 25m pool, a 35-station fitness suite, multi-function rooms and a café with 20 covers.

Shropshire Youth Association Youth Club

Work on the Shropshire Youth Association (SYA) headquarters in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury came to a successful conclusion at the end of June.

Whittington Primary School Classroom extension

We have delivered this three classroom extension project for the Council's Learning and Skills team. We worked with the appointed Design and Build Contractor, PaveAways Limited, to provide the three new classrooms which are situated at the rear of the existing school building after an options appraisal of the whole School site.

Whittington Primary 3 classroom extension

Whittington CE Primary School is situated in an expanding village and to meet demand for this existing eight classroom school, the new build extension will provide an additional three classrooms.

West Felton Primary new hall and entrance extension

West Felton CE Primary School is a popular School in North Shropshire with a traditional Victorian school house that has been expanded with additional demountable classrooms at the back of the site. With the school outgrowing the existing building they do not have adequate accommodation for a school hall large enough for the required Dining, Assembly, PE and modern curriculum.

St Laurence Primary School classroom extension

St Laurence C of E Primary School was opened in 1992 and is one of three primary schools located in Ludlow, South Shropshire. The school had three classrooms which were particularly small and did not meet the Department for Education’s recommended area guidelines. Therefore, PSG were commissioned to extend these rooms by a total of 54 sqm.

Caer Bryn Children's Residential Home

In Shropshire there is a requirement to provide children’s residential care as many children and young people can be exposed to neglect, abuse and violence. Therefore, to meet this need Shropshire Council purchased a former a seven-bed residential care home in North Shropshire to convert it into a residential children’s home.

Shropshire Youth Association new HQ

PSG are very pleased to be working with local charity Shropshire Youth Association to assist with delivery of their new headquarters building in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury.
