Tech Severn 2018: Tuesday 17th July at Theatre Severn

We recently attending the Tech Severn event which was arranged to showcase the technical capabilities that local and national businesses, as well as Shropshire Council, have to offer to investors, partners and clients.  Attendees had a significant interest in technology and how it could improve services and ultimately the lives of residents within the county boundary and surrounding neighbours. PSG attended primarily to showcase our FARO 3D laser scanner and the various concepts in which it can be beneficial, along with the support and assistance of our FARO representative, Jack Strongitharm, and his very impressive 360° virtual reality Walker.

Being able to exhibit at such a prestigious event for Shropshire gave us the opportunity to show off our land surveying services to the masses, in particular the information the scanner is capable of collecting and the multiple different ways in which it can be utilised - such as a 3D point cloud, visualisations & flythroughs, 360° panoramic imagery or various virtual reality concepts to name a few. Having visitors able to virtually walk around parts of the Shirehall at our stand was a massive draw and crowds quickly gathered.  It generated a lot of chatting not to mention some extremely comical moments for their co-workers.

Away from the geeky gadgets and gizmos, the event also gave us the chance to conduct some professional networking with some high profile councillors and senior members of staff from the authority as well as other internal department heads. Having the ability to highlight the full range of services PSG have to offer both internally and externally, to possible future clients and partners, will prove priceless for our business growth and development. A massive thank you to our colleague, Richard James, for inviting us to the conference and giving us a platform to perform from.
