We were commissioned to carry out the re-roofing of the whole school due to the failure of the original concrete tiles, the majority of which were porous and cracked.
On the basis of achieving best value, and taking into account the low pitch, various types of materials were considered, a metal roof tile was eventually settled upon. The Roofing Contractors were given the choice of either the “Britmet” or “Decra” system with a metal tile replacement for the concrete tiles and a metal framed “Flat to Pitch” system for the Flat Roof area.
MAC Roofing Ltd were the successful contractor and the school work closely with them and have established a good working relationship.
Having agreed an overall programme at the initial site meeting, the Contractor meets daily with the School Site Manager to agree the next day’s site operations.
Our surveyor visits the site frequently to ensure quality and continuity of work along with safe working practices. Our Quantity Surveyor monitors cash flow and agrees valuations and submits Certificates to the Employer (Woodside School) and agrees the costs of any additional works.
