Terr Kerr organised the replacement of the old and rotten timber curtain walling and windows to the corridors at the rear of the school with new powder coated commercial aluminium curtain walling and windows.
This would seem a straight forward project but to complicate matters, connected to the timber curtain walling were worktops, sink units, water fountains, heating pipes, electrical sockets, radiators, fire alarm and security wires. All of which had to be removed to allow the work to proceed and then replaced back onto the new curtain walling once installed. A multi trade exercise!
All Glass Systems Ltd from Telford carried out the work along with sub-contractors D & J Orritt Building, W T Rowley Plumbing and Steve Michie Electrical work. All contractors performed well and the works were completed on time and within budget.
As you can see from the before and after photos the scheme has made a big difference to the school with improvements to acoustics, heat loss and heat gain and of course aesthetically.
New blinds were fitted and the school were very happy with the outcome.
