The existing school is mostly single storey construction with a mixture of pitched and flat roofs. The external walls are brickwork construction with dark brown timber windows and timber external doors.
The design approach of the classroom extensions was to replicate the existing masonry and roof covering. However, the new windows and external doors were manufactured from powder coated aluminium thermally broken construction and incorporated triple glazing for thermal benefits and longevity.
SWG Construction carried out the project whilst the school was in occupation. The headteacher commented on not only the quality of the work being exceptional but the manner in which the company’s staff liaised and communicated with the school throughout the project.
