For many years Shelton Cricket Club and SAHA Bowling Club have been based at the grounds of the Shelton Hospital site at Bicton, Shrewsbury. The old hospital buildings have recently been sold to Shropshire Homes for redevelopment and in the process the club houses for both clubs have been lost. The developers offered one of the old buildings for alternative accommodation and PSG were appointed to carry out the internal re-fit.
The brief was to provide changing rooms for players and the umpires, a clubroom, disabled facilities, a kitchen and a bar. The building required some structural repairs and also the installation of services and drainage. A limited budget demanded a very close working relationship with the contractor in order to control costs. Refurb 1 were very pro-active throughout the process and delivered the project to a high standard in time for the start of the 2017 playing season.
Both clubs are very happy with the new club house which offers a massive improvement over their previous accommodation. PSG are pleased to have been involved in the project and hope their work will contribute to the future success of both clubs.
