The three-classroom single storey extension block is linked to the existing school building and provides much needed additional classroom space to Primary School in the expanding village of Whittington. The additional classrooms allow the schools increase from single form entry to 1.5 form entry.
The new extension is built with sustainability in mind, achieving a BREEAM score of ‘Very Good’. The Building fabric is constructed to exceed existing Building Regulations U-Values. The extension also benefits from Solar PV panels and Air Source heating.
In the new classroom’s the School have chosen natural tones and materials to compliment the carefully considered furnishings to create a calm and therapeutic learning environment for the pupils.
