Haughmond Federation, Shrewsbury

Proposals have been developed by PSG and its preferred contractor, Pave Aways Ltd, to enhance primary school provision at Haughmond Federation.

Shropshire Council is investing £8.44million to create a new flagship facility in Featherbed Lane, which will allow Sundorne Infant School and Nursery to move from its existing home on Corndon Crescent and relocate on to the same site as Harlescott Junior School, enabling the Haughmond Federation to consolidate its infant and junior provision on a single site. Both schools will also increase in size to meet local demand for additional primary school places.

The development has been designed to have minimum impact on the surrounding neighbourhood, while also considering the environmental impact to Shropshire and the teaching environment for the teachers and pupils.

The development comprises a new multi-purpose hall, a new kitchen, associated office accommodation for both Harlescott Junior School and Sundorne Infant School and Nursery, toilets and storage rooms, internal remodelling and associated external works.
