The Council’s Children's Services submitted a bid to receive grant funding from the Department for Education, which was successful as it provided clear evidence of a significant need for residential care in the area.
PSG then carried out the building, mechanical and electrical designs necessary to refurbish the whole of the property to include a young person’s flat, together with 4 children’s bedrooms, living areas and staff accommodation.
Welch and Phillips were successful in tendering for the project and commenced the extensive refurbishment required to convert the property into a homely, nurturing, and safe environment to meet the needs of the children who would be living in the home.
