Severn Trent Water have a policy that food disposal units and macerators are not used in commercial kitchens.
This is because the food waste generated causes problems in the sewer network which can lead to blockages, flooding incidents and pollution events. It is best management practice that all food waste is either disposed of in food recycling bins or scraped off into the rubbish to be disposed of in the refuse.
