CIF Bid Outcome 2020/21

On Monday 29th June the Department for Education belatedly announced the outcome to the latest Condition Improvement Fund bidding round.  Nationally £434m was awarded across 1,243 academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan voluntary aided schools.

With such a high demand for the funding from this stream success rates for funding nationally was 29% (£434m awarded from £1.45bn applied for).

PSG have worked with a number of schools and academies this year to guarantee funding of £400,000, with a success rate of 42% (£950,000 applied for), well above the national average.  We are now focusing our efforts on working with the individual schools and our contractors to deliver these projects with the minimum disruption.

The Prime Minister has also announced this week an additional £560m for school repairs making the prospects more hopeful for further future successful bids in the 21-22 Condition improvement funding round.

The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is an annual bidding round for eligible academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan VA schools to apply for capital funding. The priority for the fund is to address significant condition need, keeping education provider buildings safe and in good working order. This includes funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building condition
