With winter fast approaching, PSG have put together a useful checklist to ensure your building is safe and secure during the cold weather:
November:
- Is security lighting switching at correct times?
- Have you checked emergency lights this term?
- Have you checked heating clock & optimiser settings?
- Have you checked thermostat frost settings?
- Are all frost protection heaters working?
- How often are urinals flushing?
- Have you cleaned oil fired boilers this term?
- Do you know where to isolate water?
- Are outside toilet heaters working?
December:
- Oil storage tanks topped up?
- Does anywhere need draining for holidays? If you need a contractor to drain down for Christmas book early!
- Check for dripping taps and overflows.
- Are low temperature HWS & showers working correctly?
- Out of hours contact list up to date?
January:
- Is security lighting switching at correct times?
- Check heating clock & optimiser settings
- Are heating & HWS controls set to ‘normal’?
- Has fire alarm been checked and batteries topped up?
- Are boiler flow settings correct?
- Are toilet extractor fans working?
- Have you cleaned oil fired boilers this term?
- How often are urinals flushing?
- Flush all WC’s with lids closed
- Run showers & low use outlets for 5 minutes
- Are low temperature HWS & showers working correctly?
